The Sixties in Italy were an energized and optimistic time. Brave young couples married, swearing eternal love, and the ensuing baby boom brought a huge increase in the population. The family was seen as a crucial factor in relaunching the economy, which enjoyed prosperity for many years. The 1960s were a heyday for creativity and entrepreneurial spirit: Italian technology, fashion and style became benchmarks for quality and good taste, exported around the world.
